J&S McKee Ltd were proud to contribute to the 2014 Exhibition and Conference Centre extension of Belfast Waterfront, enhancing its capacity for conferences, events, and exhibitions.
Our responsibilities on this challenging project included:
- Complete site clearance and service diversions
- Construction of the piling mat and piling attendance
- Substructure excavations
- Reinforced concrete works to the basement and ground floor
- Installation of storm drainage
- Construction of the main storm water pumping station
The enabling and infrastructure works were successfully completed between April and August 2014.
This project presented numerous challenges due to:
- Very limited site access
- Numerous existing underground services
- Proximity to the River Lagan
- High groundwater levels requiring expert water management
J&S McKee Ltd delivered the full supply and fix substructure package, including all temporary works, showcasing our ability to manage complex urban sites with demanding environmental conditions.
