J&S McKee is proud to have played a key role in the development of Queens University’s state-of-the-art Factory of the Future, part of the new Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (AMIC).
At the 2026 CEF Awards the AMIC development was named Overall Project of the Year — the highest honour presented at the awards — and also received the Commercial Construction Project of the Year award, recognising the outstanding achievement of everyone involved in bringing this ambitious project to life.
This award winning purpose-built facility will provide an open, collaborative environment designed to support businesses of all sizes — helping turn innovative ideas into fully realized manufacturing solutions, all within a secure and cutting-edge space.
From the earliest stages, J&S McKee has been instrumental in bringing this ambitious project to life. Our scope of work has included:
- Comprehensive site clearance, bulk earthworks and enabling works.
- Construction of access roads and provision of essential utilities.
- Installation of drainage and rainwater attenuation systems.
- Delivery of reinforced concrete sub structures & retaining walls
- Site works completion
Drawing on its experienced team, specialist expertise and modern equipment, J&S McKee Ltd has helped transform a greenfield site into a development that will play an important role in supporting Northern Ireland’s advanced manufacturing and innovation sectors.
